I am trying to use less as possible plugins. The ones which I think are needed the most is to make up for the features which are in wordpress.com but not on the self-hosted wordpress. “Automaticc” actually provides the “jetpack” to recover those features.
So here are my wordpress plugins — a fine selection
- Jetpack – to make a self-hosted wordpress as good as the wordpress.com
- Sharedaddy – the simplest to share with facebook or twitter (incl. in Jetpack)
- WordPress.com stats – best&simplest in terms of stats (incl. in Jetpack)
- Akismet – to protect your blog from spam
- Fancy Gallery – for the Fancy Light Box – click on image and get a nice view
- Contact form 7 – to setup contact forms and more
- MailChimp – the best for Newsletter opt ins
- Events calendar pro – to provide a calender e.g. for theatre events on a theatre site
- WP e-Commerce – in case you need a shop
- Redirection – in case of a Website migration
- WordPress Importer – in case of a Website migration
